The Roby Hall Estate was bought by Alderman Sir William Bowring and gifted to the city of Liverpool “for the use of inhabitants of Liverpool for all time.”

The Estate was officially handed over to the city on the 12th of June 1907 where It was subsequently renamed Bowring Park.

A Brief History of Bowring Park

Bowring Park officially unveiled a brand new 9-hole course, making it the oldest municipal golf course in England.

It was only in 1934 that the course was extended to the full 18.
